Lesson 2 — Versioning
major.minor.patch
Semantic versioning (SemVer) gives every release a number like 1.4.9:
- patch (last number) — bug fixes only;
- minor (middle) — new features, nothing breaks; patch resets to 0;
- major (first) — breaking changes; minor and patch reset to 0.
"1.4.9".split(".").map(Number); // [1, 4, 9]
Why it matters: the version tells users at a glance whether an upgrade is safe.
